If you want to visit Budapest, I really advise people to do it with "Budapest Walking Tours". You discover Budapest with a very nice local (Gábor), who knows very much about the environment. You see places you would never discover on your own. You also discover local specialities, like Hungarian food, traditions, etc. What I like so much about "Budapest Walking Tours" is that you are not "just guided". There's a really personal approach, which makes you feel like a friend of all the Hungarian people! Really, if you want to visit Budapest, do it with this company!

In August 2014 and 2015 I went with my family to Budapest. As I went in 2014 for the first time to Budapest, I really wanted to do a guided tour, to get to know more of the Hungarian lifestyle, culture and other habits. I contacted "Budapest Walking Tours" and immediately we planned a date. The tour was amazing. Gàbor is a very polite, experienced and competent guide. His personal and individual approach makes you feel comfortable. Because of that, you feel like you can ask him anything. I would really recommend "Budapest Walking Tours" if you want to visit Budapest with a local. Even if you have been there before, there are still enough places to discover.

Over our 10 day multi-country family vacation we came across many guides, and hands down Gabor was everyone's favorite guide! He was very helpful and accommodating while organizing the tour of Budapest, he even obtained a van for us since one person could not walk as much. He was very prompt in responding to our emails while organizing the tour. He customized our tour to include all that we wanted and a stop for tea and pastries for a midafternoon break. He is incredibly knowledgeable about Hungary's history, politics, culture, and his English is easy to comprehend. He managed to hold the attention of the 18 year old teenagers and the 60 year old adults. Additionally, he helped with taking great photographs for the family as well. I would HIGHLY recommend Gabor to any of my family and friends that are planning to take a tour of Budapest.

Our (wife and husband only) review is based on a 2.5 hour walk with Gabor through the old city and included a stop at a coffee shop. We recommend that you take a tour with Gabor and do so early in your visit to Budapest. He has a wealth of knowledge about things to see and do in this beautiful city. He speaks excellent English and he showed/explained many interesting things during the tour. He provided us with excellent advice on things to do on our own during our stay. We loved his insights on Hungarian political, linguistic, and ethnic history. In summary, a tour with Gabor is a very worthwhile investment!!
